In June 2026, Dauphine Dijon unveiled a monumental sculpture by artist Nathalie Decoster, titled "Rencontre dans le Temps," commissioned specifically for the site. This new mixed-use destination grew out of the redevelopment of the former shopping center of the same name, built in 1973 in the historic heart of Dijon. Led by developer Dauphine Invest, the site now brings together retail, offices, and dining across 14,000 square meters. Clad in gold leaf, the work stands in the central courtyard, at the crossing point of the site's main walkways.
The piece depicts two figures, each following their own path, whose journeys briefly cross. Will they see each other? Will they meet? It all comes down to how attentive they are to one another, and how open they are to the unexpected. It's a quiet invitation to look more closely at the people around us — a reflection that resonates deeply with this exceptional project, where architecture, art, and human experience are meant to speak to one another.
